This Week In Selby - 21 June 2016

Goooooood Morning Selby!
Welcome to the first full week of summer break! I hope everyone has been able to sleep in a bit and the kiddos are beginning the recoup from that long school year and all the work that went into it! I hope to have a few activities this summer for everyone. More on that coming next week. I know it’s been a while, but we have a few things on the horizon so here is your Selby Weekly Update!

Wednesday

Key Cards and Parking Stickers - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Thursday
Zumba - 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Selby Band Practice - 7:30pm

ANNOUNCMENTS

  • Nettle Nets -2 July at 8:30am
    • Looking for some volunteers to put up the nettle nets for the season! Meet at the clubhouse!

  • Security Guard
    • Due to the influx of non-resident visitors to our beach, we have hired a security guard. You need to present a Selby-On-The-Bay parking sticker to be able to park in the parking lot. You can pick up a parking sticker every other Wednesday from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. This Wednesday happens to be one of those Wednesdays!!

  • 1st Friday Happy Hour
    • Let’s celebrate summer this 1st Friday Happy Hour!!! Looking for folks with volley ball nets and cornhole boards! Bring a dish to share! Don’t forget to bring drinks for you and the kiddos! Our very own Selby band - so aptly named The Thursdays - will be playing for us! We’re looking for a 5:00pm-5:30pm-ish start time.

  • 4th of July
    • Sunday, 3 July - Last year was such a great year that we’re gonna do it again!! If you would like to enter the parade, then the line up starts at 11:30am in the Legion parking lot. Right now I’m guessing it’ll be the same parade route. If that changes, then I’ll let everyone know. The parade begins at noon. Festivities at the Legion begin at 4:00pm with fireworks that evening.
    • Monday, 4 July - We’ll have our children’s parade the morning of the 4th. We’ll take nominations for a King and a Queen and they will lead the parade. The children’s parade is a short loop from the clubhouse around Beach Drive and back to the parking lot. Line up will start at 10.
    • Monday, 4 July - There will be no formal event for the 4th of July at the clubhouse, but everyone is encouraged to hop down and watch from the beach the surrounding neighborhoods. Please remember that fireworks are prohibited at the beach.

Thank you everyone and have a great summer!! Oh!! Please check out the Selby website. I switched things around a bit and gave a nice update. Please utilize it as a source of information. It is updated often.
