Whenever there is a large storm approaching, whether it be a winter storm or hurricane, much of preparing is about the same.
- Make sure you have plenty of supplies and a full tank of gas in your car.
- Charge up cell phones.
- Gather flashlights. LED ones are the best! They are brighter and last longer and can be found at Home Depot or Sears for relatively low prices.
- Make sure all pets have food and supplies.
- Fill up that bathtub in case power goes out for a prolong period of time.
- Check and test run generators and make sure you have plenty of gas for refills.
- For hurricanes, make sure the yard is picked up. High winds can make just about anything a projectile.
- For winter storms, make sure you have plenty of blankets to keep warm and firewood close to the house for convenience.
